Enable Cheats

Enable admin commands on a Bedrock world.

Cheats enable commands such as /gamemode, /give, /tp, and more on a Bedrock world. Without cheats, admin commands cannot be used even if you have OP.

How to Enable Cheats#

Cheats are configured in the server.properties file:

  1. Open the Files tab → server.properties.
  2. Find the allow-cheats line and set:
    properties
    allow-cheats=true
  3. Save and Restart the server.

Important Note#

Caution

Enabling cheats **disables achievements** on that world. Consider this carefully if you are chasing achievements.

Verify#

After restarting, try a command such as /gamemode creative. If it works, cheats are active. If you see "Cheats are not enabled", repeat the steps above and make sure the server was actually restarted.

Tip

For a world created in-game (not a server), cheats are set via **Settings → Game → Cheats** before the world starts — they cannot be changed mid-game.
