Flying is not enabled

Fix kicks when players fly or use elytra.

Players can get kicked with the message "Flying is not enabled on this server" when trying to fly (creative mode, elytra, jetpacks, or mods that allow flight). This happens because the server rejects flight movement to prevent cheating.

How to Fix It#

  1. Enable Allow Flight#

    1. Open the Files tab in the panel.
    2. Find and open the server.properties file.
    3. Change the following line:
      properties
      allow-flight=true
      (add it if it does not exist.)
    4. Save the file.

  2. Restart the Server#

    server.properties changes only apply after a Restart. Open the Console and press Restart.

  3. For Creative Mode#

    Make sure the player uses /gamemode creative. Survival mode with allow-flight=false will kick players detected flying.

Security Note#

Caution

`allow-flight=true` makes it easier for players to use flight cheats in survival mode. Enable it only if your server genuinely uses mods/elytra that require it, and install an anti-cheat plugin if needed.

Alternative#

If you only want to allow elytra, consider a plugin such as Elytra or configure a more precise anti-cheat plugin instead of disabling the global flight protection.
